The purpose of this website is to provide authentic Latin passages that discuss LGBTQIA+ and gender topics for middle and high school level Latin classes (ages 14 - 17). Despite the growing amount of scholarship in gender and sexuality studies of the Greco-Roman world, most of these works are intended for a college-level audience and are inaccessible to the vast majority of Latin teachers. This blog hopes to provide classroom appropriate passages for middle and high school Latin students in order to add a more diverse representation to the curriculum and foster a discussion about the intersection of gender, sexuality, and society.
